It all begins with an idea.

This visual narrative represents the design process behind Cliff House, showing how a site-responsive and environmental research approach shaped the project. The study of the terrain, climate, and acoustic conditions informed a detailed brief that directly influenced the dwelling’s spatial layout, material choices, and passive design strategies.

Cliff House is a dwelling shaped by its landscape, combining Passivhaus principles with zero energy design. Its stone façade acts as a thermal buffer, regulating heat and anchoring the building within the terrain.

The layout enhances acoustic comfort and natural ventilation through a central courtyard, while carefully recessed openings and solar treatments bring in light and provide shade. Using high thermal mass materials and passive systems, the house maintains comfort throughout the year with minimal mechanical support, creating a calm and efficient living environment that reflects its place.
